Dear Residents and Family Members,
Many of you have seen today’s news that the CDC has released public health recommendations for fully vaccinated persons, which describe circumstances when non-pharmaceutical interventions (e.g., quarantine) could be relaxed for fully vaccinated persons in non-healthcare settings. This guidance also allows fully vaccinated people in non-healthcare settings to attend outdoor and indoor activities without a mask, while unvaccinated people will still be required to mask in indoor public settings and if attending crowded outdoor events.
The guidance for healthcare facilities and healthcare workers is also being updated, and CMS (the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) generally issues guidelines to facilities to follow shortly after the CDC publication.
We will be updating Beth Sholom’s infection control and visitation policies to reflect the new CMS guidance as soon as it is made available to us. In the meantime, our visitation policies and staff masking policies remain unchanged.
