Dear Residents, Family Members and Staff:
The challenges of a highly contagious virus continue to impact residents at Beth Sholom. We have confirmed that two Gardens Assisted Living residents tested positive for COVID-19. Fortunately, everyone involved resides in the same area. If you have not been notified, you or your family member is not affected. We believe that a staff person who was sent home after experiencing symptoms, and subsequently tested positive, likely brought the virus to the facility.
We have instituted our quarantine practices for the impacted residents and have closed communal dining and small group activities. In accordance with CMS guidelines, we will be continuing our testing of residents and employees in the Gardens Assisted Living. We are working with the local health department to ensure we have all the support we need to address these latest cases.
There is a significant number of senior living communities in Henrico and throughout the state that are experiencing a second and third outbreak of Covid-19 positive residents and staff. This continues to be very concerning. Fortunately, we have scheduled our first COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic for residents and staff on January 24th. We are hopeful to have 100% participation of all residents.
Please be safe and follow the CDC guidance of wearing a mask, social distancing, and frequent handwashing.
