Dear Residents and Family Members:
Our follow-up testing within our Healthcare Center has now identified a total of nine positive cases of COVID-19 which includes four staff members and five residents. We have notified all the family members of those impacted by this latest round of testing. We have implemented our quarantine plans for all these residents and our staff. Many of these latest cases involve asymptomatic patients which makes it very difficult to identify. As a result of this latest news, visitation will remain closed at the Healthcare Center until we can get this latest outbreak under control. While we have been down this road before and feel confident that our team is doing all it can to prevent further spread, we are working closely with the Health Department to ensure we are following the most up-to-date guidelines.
With news of a vaccine just around the corner and CDC guidance to include nursing homes in the early stages of a launch program, we are currently making plans to roll out a vaccination program at Beth Sholom. We will keep you updated as we get closer to implementing that plan.
While we are doing our very best to combat the virus inside Beth Sholom, we need our family members to do their very best to reduce the risk of community spread. We are all tired of dealing with the pandemic, but the end is near, and we just need to stay diligent for a little while longer.
.Please be safe and follow the CDC guidance of wearing a mask, social distancing, and frequent handwashing.
