Dear Residents, Family Members and Staff:

A vast majority of the test results from our recent point prevalence survey (PPS) have been returned and I am happy to report that so far all our residents and staff have tested negative.  We still have a few results pending but expect to receive those within the next day or so. Based upon a successful PPS:

  • We are planning to resume our dine-in operations for residents in the Gardens and Parkside. Everyone will need to wear a mask to and from the dining room, but they can take it off while they are eating. We also will reduce the number of tables so we can practice social distancing.
  • We are also finalizing a plan for outdoor visitation with family members. These outdoor visits will depend on the weather, the resident’s condition, and their individual physical ability. We will be developing the rules that we will enforce to include wearing a mask, practicing social distancing and limited time frames. As we finalize those plans, we will share the guidelines with everyone. These guidelines will be non-negotiable and are designed to safeguard the health and safety of your family member.   You will be notified as soon as we have protocols in place for safe, protected outdoor visitation.

These may feel like small steps towards reopening but based upon what we are seeing around the country we feel this is the appropriate way to move forward.  As many health experts have stated in recent weeks, if we follow the proper guidelines, we have a much better chance of returning to normal faster.

Should we have one new case of the virus, or the surrounding community retreats to Phase II, we will need to reevaluate and eliminate any easing of restrictions, per state guidance.
