Dear Residents and Family Members:
I want to take a moment to thank the many people who have written, called, or sent in donations to our staff in the past few weeks to show your support during this challenging time. Your kind gestures and support help to lift the spirits of our team and I want to personally thank you. Our team continues to take extraordinary steps to care for your loved ones, and I’m proud of their efforts.
Over the weekend, we finally had a chance to provide testing for our staff in the Healthcare Center due to the increased availability of testing kits. Only one of 36 staff members in that location tested positive for COVID-19. Since the teammate is asymptomatic, the health department has advised us that they can continue to care for patients with confirmed cases of COVID-19 so we can maintain our staffing levels. On the positive side, we experienced no new cases among our residents. As you may recall, everyone in that building is in isolation, regardless of how they recently tested. We also want to stress that no other buildings on our property have a confirmed case.
As we all enter our eighth week in dealing with the pandemic, we know the desire to see your loved ones and to hear their voices will only grow. We encourage you to join the family chat phenomenon that is spreading across the country and tap into the resources available to you at Beth Sholom. If you are not comfortable with the technology, just give us a ring and we can help. Again, thank you for your support and please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers.
