Dear Residents and Family Members:

Today is day 15 of our Campus Wide Lockout to all Visitors.

Yesterday we learned that one of our residents in Parkside Assisted Living tested positive for the coronavirus. The resident has been in a local hospital where they are receiving medical treatment. Given our current shelter in place guidelines, we are hopeful that this will be an isolated case. Beth Sholom is staying in contact with the local health department and our team continues to work diligently to ensure we are following all CDC recommendations.  In addition, health department officials are assisting us in determining how this one resident contracted the virus. Potentially exposed staff are home and self-quarantined.  Their names were provided to the health department for follow-up.

We are committed to keeping our families up to date on the developments within our facilities. We thank you for the trust you have placed in us to care for your loved ones. We will do our very best to earn that trust each and every day.

We do ask for your patience during this time, the Beth Sholom team is working hard to be responsive to your calls.

Please take advantage of our virtual family visits.  You will find scheduling instructions on our website. These visits are limited in time and frequency so that each resident will be able to have this opportunity.

To stay informed, please continue to check this phone line and our website for updates, www.bethsholomliving.org . If you would like to receive updates by email, contact us at communications@bslcc.org  and provide your name, the name of your loved one and the building where they reside.

Please be safe and follow the CDC guidance of social distancing, frequent handwashing and self-isolation.

Thank you,
Morris S. Funk
President and Chief Executive Officer
