Dear Residents and Family Members:

In my effort to keep you updated on our activities surrounding the Coronavirus Pandemic, effective today, March 12, 2020 at 5:00PM, we are closing the Campus to all outside visitors.  This decision is being made in the best interests of the residents, tenants and staff of Beth Sholom Senior Living.   While we do not have a current case of the Coronavirus on Campus, this virus is primarily affecting seniors and proven to be deadly.  Today, we are aware of several confirmed Coronavirus cases in the surrounding counties.  Therefore, in order to minimize resident contact with others who may be carrying the virus we are restricting visitation. We are hopeful this will minimize the potential for an outbreak on campus.  I know this is very short notice, however, out of an abundance of caution we feel this is the correct decision.

To keep you informed we will be sending out updates by email.  Please send your email addresses and your family members name to and we will add you to our email communications going forward.  We have ceased sending letters as this is a fluid issue and email will be the best way to share information quickly.  We have also setup a phone line, (804) 421-5141, where you can listen to updates surrounding the campus activities and the Coronavirus issue.  Also, we are working on an ability to have virtual visits through Skype or Facetime.  As soon as we have this ready to go, we will communicate that to you.

Some have inquired about Private Aides and access to the campus.  We are allowing your private duty aids to continue as scheduled.  We ask that you let them know we will be screening all staff and private aides including taking their temperature.  Those handling laundry for their family member can arrange for laundry to be picked up in front of the residents building.  Please coordinate this through the building Administrator or Director of Nursing.

Additionally, we are cancelling non-essential off campus doctor visits. Avoiding public places is one of the many CDC recommendations for anyone over 60 years old.

Thank you again for your assistance in keeping our residents and staff healthy.
